Muslim Board to Launch Nationwide Protests Against Waqf Bill

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) plans nationwide protests against the Waqf Amendment Bill, calling it “discriminatory, controversial, and harmful,” Clarion reported. Following a successful demonstration in Delhi on March 17, the board will hold sit-ins in Patna on March 26 and Vijayawada on March 29, with support from opposition parties and minority groups.

Dr. Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas, AIMPLB spokesperson, thanked various organizations for their solidarity. The action committee aims to send a message to BJP allies to reconsider their support for the bill. Protests will also occur in cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, and Kolkata, featuring dharnas, human chains, social media campaigns, and public discussions.

Dr. Ilyas emphasized that this struggle is not solely a Muslim issue but a fight for justice and equality for all marginalized communities, vowing to oppose the bill through peaceful means until it is withdrawn.
