Violence Erupts in Jamui, Bihar, Following Provocative Slogans Near Mosque

Clashes erupted in Jamui district on Sunday after members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) raised provocative slogans during a religious procession near a mosque, Muslim Mirror reported. The unrest occurred in the Jhajha area, leading to stone-pelting and injuries. Authorities swiftly suspended internet services to prevent further escalation.

According to District Magistrate Abhilasha Sharma, three individuals were injured and taken to a government hospital, where they are reported stable. Police confirmed that the procession, organized by ABVP and Hindu Swabhimaan Sangathan, lacked proper permission and strayed from its approved route.

In response to the violence, nine individuals were arrested, and a police officer was suspended for negligence. Cases have been filed against 50-60 unidentified participants. To restore order, police conducted a flag march in Jhajha, urging residents to maintain peace. The local administration continues to monitor the situation closely, emphasizing strict action against those inciting violence.
