Office of Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Issues Statement Regarding Deadly Cyclone in Mayotte Island

Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.
“Have mercy on those on earth, and you will be shown mercy from the One in the Heavens.”

The tragic incident of the cyclone in Mayotte Island, which has resulted in the death of thousands, particularly affecting many believers and devotees of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them), and leaving many homeless while inflicting severe damage upon them, has deeply saddened the esteemed Marja, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Hosseini al-Shirazi.

In expressing his condolences to the victims of this heartbreaking disaster, his Eminence implored the Almighty God for forgiveness and vast mercy for the deceased, as well as health and safety for the injured, and compensation for the losses incurred.

On this occasion, the Supreme Marja called upon all believers to exert their utmost efforts in providing assistance and relief to the people of this island and in addressing the damages they have suffered. It is hoped that, God willing, all those who assist will be granted the blessings of His Holiness, the Awaited Savior (may Allah hasten his reappearance).
