Local Muslim Youth Host “Explore Islam” Exhibit in Calgary
A group of Muslim youth organized an “Explore Islam” exhibit on Sunday at the Central Library in Calgary, Canada, Calgary Herald reported yesterday.
The initiative aimed to address misconceptions about Islam and foster understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims. Participants engaged with the community, answering questions about their beliefs and practices.
The exhibit showcased various translations of the Quran and highlighted key issues, such as the true meaning of jihad and women’s rights in Islam. The youth leaders emphasized that jihad means “to strive” and should not be associated with violence. They also clarified that Islam promotes gender equality, stating that both men and women have equal rights and responsibilities.
With nearly 1.8 million Muslims in Canada, the event aimed to strengthen community ties and promote peaceful coexistence, fostering a more inclusive society.
