“Islamic Awareness Week” launched ahead of seventh anniversary of attack on Quebec Mosque
Ahead of the 7th anniversary of the attack on the mosque in Quebec, Canada, the people of Montreal held a gathering to start the “Islamic Awareness Week”.
Montrealers commemorated the loss of six lives on January 29, 2017, when a gunman entered the Quebec City Islamic-Cultural Center and opened fire on worshippers.
“The gathering of Montrealers is a show of solidarity to express sympathy with the families of people who lost their lives on January 29, 2017 in Quebec City,” said Samer Majzoub, head of the Canadian Muslim Association, while giving a speech at this gathering.
This event, which was held in “Victoria” square, was organized under the title “hand-in-hand against Islamophobia”.
