WHO describes Shafa Hospital as “death zone”, urges full evacuation

The World Health Organization said Sunday it had led an assessment mission to Al-Shifa hospital in Gaza City and determined it was a “death zone”, urging a full evacuation.
According to WHO, 291 patients and 25 health workers are still in the hospital.
The organization pointed out that a lack of clean water, fuel, medicine, food and other essential aid over six weeks has caused the largest and most advanced hospitals in Gaza to basically stop functioning as a medical facility.
The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has also condemned Israel’s “horrific” attacks on schools in the Gaza Strip, which killed scores of defenseless Palestinians.
