Sacred shrines of Ahl al-Bayt dressed in black to commemorate martyrdom of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra
The 8th of Rabi’ul-Thani, according to some narrations, marks the martyrdom anniversary of Sayyida Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her, 40 days after the martyrdom of the Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his pure family.
On this occasion, commemorative gatherings are held by Shiites all over the world in order to hold in honor the position and dignity of the Superior Lady of both Worlds.
It should be noted that in addition to holding mourning and Azadari sessions, the Holy Shrines of Amir al-Momineen, Sayyed al-Shuhada and Abal Fazl al-Abbas, peace be upon them, in the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala, as well as the sacred Shrines of Imam Musa al-Kazim and Imam Jawad, peace be upon them, in Kazimayn, and the holy Shrine of Imam al-Hadi and Imam Hassan al-Askari (peace be upon them) in Samarra, were covered in black on this occasion to mourn the tragic martyrdom of Siddiqa al-Tahira, peace be upon her.
Other shrines of descendants of Ahlul-Bayt as well as blessed places in Iraq are dressed in black and drowned in mourning on this occasion, and host Majalis of Azadari.
