Iraq: New bridge installed to facilitate movement of pilgrims during Arbaeen Walk

The Roads and Bridges Authority, an official body affiliated to the Iraqi Ministry of Construction and Housing, has revealed that a new bridge linking Baghdad to Hilla and leads to holy Karbala is now open, to facilitate the movement of pilgrims during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.

The Authority said in a statement received by Shia Waves Agency that “The Sikha Bridge, a temporary bridge made of iron, has been installed and fixed to the Numaniya concrete bridge.”

It should be mentioned that millions of people, from Iraq and other countries, have begun their on-foot journey towards the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, to commemorate the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
