Holy Karbala Government seeks increase in water flow during Arba’een Pilgrimage
The deputy governor of the holy city of Karbala, Ali al-Mayali, discussed with the director of the Water Resources Directorate in the city, Abdul Amir Rashid Saleh, the possibility of increasing water flow during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
Saleh said in a press statement followed by Shia Waves Agency: “We discussed with the deputy governor of Holy Karbala Ali al-Mayali the ongoing preparations for the Arba’een Pilgrimage, as well as the impact of water scarcity on the province and its districts, and how to overcome this issue.”
He added that “We also discussed the serious steps the Ministry of Water Resources is conducting to address water scarcity and to regulate water distribution into rivers and streams.”
It is worth mentioning that the Misbah al-Hussein Foundation for Relief and Development, a center affiliated to Grand Ayatollah Shiraziin Holy Karbala, is still holding sessions on its major development project (Holy Karbala Vision 2030 – 50 Million Pilgrims in Arbaeen).
