Grand Ayatollah Shirazi calls on Shia Muslims to revive Husseini rituals, build more husseiniyas for women

The Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadeq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, renewed his commandments to the followers of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, worldwide to intensify their efforts and do everything possible to revive the rituals of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, in memory of Ashura.

The Grand Ayatollah Shirazi said in his speech delivered on the beginning of Muharram that, “the Holy Husseini rituals are the message of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, to the whole world, as they convey the true Islamic culture and teachings.”

His Eminence continued that “the correct realistic Islamic culture is represented by AhllulBayet, peace be upon them, and we should take the initiative to raise awareness for the message of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and to command what is good and forbid what is wrong.”

The Supreme Religious Authority considered the fact that there are a few husseiniyats for women “will not be enough to deliver the Hosseini message to women across the world and to introduce them to the biography of Sayyeda Zainab, peace be upon her, her sacrifices,” indicating that “the number of women exceeds the number of men and that their roles are equally important,” encouraging the believers, “to build more Husseiniyas for women.”

He also added that “We should all do what Allah Almighty, wants us to do and that achieves the goals of the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him,” pointing out that “Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, is a divine exception, and there are many proofs to this in history and narrations.
