Iraq: Authorities in Holy Najaf hold meeting to discuss security plans for Imam Ali Martyrdom

The Najaf Governorate Police Command held a security meeting that was attended by the Governor of Holy Najaf, Majid Al-Waeli and top security officials.

The meeting discussed security plans for maintaining security during the coming anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali, peace be upon him.

The Police Command said in a statement that the security meeting reviewed the latest developments in the security situation, dividing the city into security sectors, and that thousands of security men deployed to carry out the plans.

The statement added that the meeting presented a summary of the security units that will participate in these plans.

It is worth mentioning that millions of pilgrims annually commemorate the martyrdom of the Commander of the Faithful – Imam Ali, peace be upon him, in Holy Najaf.
