Tenth of Ramadan, death anniversary of Lady Khadija, peace be upon her
The 10th of the holy month of Ramadan marks the death anniversary of Umm al-Mu’minin Lady Khadija, peace be upon her, the wife of the Messenger of God (peace be upon him and his pure family).
Khadijah, the daughter of Khuwaylid, known as Khadijah al-Kobra and Umm ul-Momineen, was the first wife of the Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his pure family, and the mother of Fatima al-Zahra, peace be upon her.
Sayyidah Khadija (may God bless her) married Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his pure family, before he was appointed to Prophethood and was the first woman to believe in him.
The Prophets’ faithful wife used all her wealth in the service of spreading Islam. Out of respect for Khadijah, the Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his pure family, did not take another wife during her lifetime, and after her death, he always remembered her with high remarks.
Three years before the Hijrah, after years of sincere devotion and service to Islam, Umm ul-Momineen Khadijah, peace be upon her, passed away in the city of Mecca and was buried in Mu’ala cemetery.
In one of his speeches about this beloved lady of Islam, the Supreme Marja of the Shiite world, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Sadiq Shirazi (may Allah prolong his life), said: It is most fitting for the faithful believers to glorify the tenth of the holy month of Ramadan, the day of the demise of the great lady of Islam, Sayyidah Khadijah al-Kabri, peace be upon her, as it will please the Infallibles, peace be upon them, especially Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah bring forward his reappearance).
