Large numbers of pilgrims commemorate International Day of Support for Imamain Askariyyain in Holy Samarra

Shia pilgrims set out from the holy city of Karbala to Holy Samarra on the last Friday of the sacred month of Ramadan to participate in the commemoration of the International Day of Support for Imamain Askariyyain (peace be upon them). This event was organized through the efforts of the Public Relations Office of the Shirazi Religious Authority in Karbala, in collaboration with Al-Rasool Al-Azam Foundation.

Shia Waves correspondent reported that tens of thousands of pilgrims took part in the Loyalty, Sacrifice, and Victory Procession to Holy Samarra to observe this significant occasion. This commemoration aligns with the guidance of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, who has emphasized the importance of maintaining an ongoing presence in supporting al-Imamain al-Askariyyain (peace be upon them), particularly on the last Friday of Ramadan.
He added that hundreds of vehicles transported pilgrims from Karbala to the holy city of Samarra to facilitate the pilgrimage. Organizers aim to expand the event in the coming years, striving for it to reach the scale of a million-strong pilgrimage. It is noteworthy that the Loyalty, Sacrifice, and Victory Procession was first launched in 2007 following the terrorist attack that targeted the golden dome of the holy shrine.
