Last Friday of Ramadan: The International Day of Supporting Imamain Askariyyain

According to the office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi , the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan has been designated as the International Day of Supporting Imamain Askariyyain, peace be upon them.

Every year, thousands of devotees of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, embark on a pilgrimage to the sacred city of Samarra on this day to commemorate the occasion.

For over 60 years, the people of Holy Karbala have upheld the legacy of the late Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Muhammad Shirazi by traveling to Samarra on the last Friday of Ramadan to visit the holy shrines of Imam Hadi and Imam Hasan al-Askari, peace be upon them.
