Shia scholars in India call for boosting religious awareness during blessed Ramadan

The office of the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, in India hosted today, Saturday, the Annual Scholars Conference, titled “Welcoming Ramadan”. The event was attended by numerous scholars and preachers.
The conference, chaired by Maulana Syed Saif Abbas Naqvi, emphasized the importance of leveraging Ramadan to enhance religious awareness.
Maulana Syed Saif Abbas Naqvi highlighted the duty of scholars and preachers to seize this blessed month to educate believers about Islamic teachings and the guidance of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, through active mosque presence and direct community engagement.

Maulana Mustafa Ali Khan shared insights from Grand Ayatollah Shirazi’s speeches, stressing the need to dedicate specific days, such as weekends, for religious guidance to accommodate larger audiences.
Maulana Shabih al-Hasan underscored the importance of strengthening ties between scholars and the community, warning against the influence of unqualified individuals and urging scholars to guide people in learning religious rulings and deepening their connection to faith.

The conference reflected the scholars’ commitment to promoting religious awareness and reinforcing mosques as centers for guidance during the blessed month of Ramadan.
