Over five million pilgrims gather in Holy Karbala for Mid-Sha’ban commemoration

Governor of Holy Karbala, Nassif Jassem Al-Khattabi, announced that more than five million pilgrims from Iraq and beyond participated in the Mid-Sha’ban pilgrimage, marking the birth anniversary of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance).

According to Shia Waves correspondent, millions of Shia Muslims flocked to Holy Karbala to commemorate the 1,191st anniversary of Imam al-Mahdi’s blessed birth, expressing devotion, hope, and anticipation for his reappearance.

Pilgrims described the occasion as deeply spiritual, emphasizing their unwavering faith and aspiration for a world of justice and peace. The large-scale gathering reflected the profound significance of Mid-Sha’ban, reaffirming the strong connection between believers and their awaited savior.
