Over 3 million people commemorate Imam Ali Al-Hadi’s martyrdom in Holy Samarra
The Al-Askari Holy Shrine announced on Saturday the successful implementation of its security and service plan for the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali Al-Hadi, peace be upon him.
In a statement sern by Shia Waves Agency, the Secretariat-General said that over 3 million pilgrims from Iraq and abroad visited Holy Samarra, supported by more than 3,000 volunteers and over 400 Husseini processions.
The shrine facilitated services for pilgrims and media outlets, ensuring the smooth performance of rituals and safe departures. The event was marked by high organization and cooperation among visitors and staff.
Imam Ali al-Hadi, peace be upon him, is the tenth Infallible Imam of the Twelver Shia. He was born in Medina in 212 AH and was martyred in Holy Samarra in 254 AH. The Imam was poisoned by the Abbasid caliph al-Mutawakkil.
