Iraq: Ministry of Transport allocates over 200 buses to transport pilgrims from border crossings
The Iraqi General Company for Land Transport, part of the Ministry of Transport, announced on Tuesday the allocation of more than 200 buses to transport pilgrims from the border crossings all the way to Holy Karbala for the Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
According to a statement seen by Shia Waves Agency, the ministry said that “the General Company for Passenger Transport has allocated more than 200 buses to transport incoming pilgrims from the border crossings to the holy city of Karbala.”
The company’s Director General, Engineer Karim Kazem Hussein, confirmed in the statement that “all efforts have been mobilized, and the number of participating buses is being increased daily,” adding that “more than 200 buses are operating in conjunction with the influx of pilgrims from the border crossings as the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein approaches.”
It is worth mentioning that the General Company for Passenger Transport, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Transport, previously announced securing transportation for pilgrims from the border crossings to Holy Karbala and other holy shrines.
