Grand Ayatollah Shirazi urges Shias to expand Husseini Majalis worldwide

The Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, called for the expansion of Husayni mourning gatherings (majalis) around the world and urged people to compete in serving Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

The Grand Marja stated that on the Day of Judgment, when we see the exceptional rewards for those who serve Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, we will regret not having done more and not having competed in this path.

His Eminence highlighted the importance of a global Husseini mobilization, pointing out that although Husseini gatherings are held today in the Middle East and various parts of the world, they are still few and need further mobilization, emphasizing that the banner of Imam Hussain should be present all over the world.

This statement was part of the annual speech Grand Ayatollah Shirazi delivered to the mourners on the night of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, (Holy Ashura) at his blessed residence in the holy city of Qom.
