Kenyan Shias commemorate martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein
The Kenyan capital, Nairobi, witnessed a massive Ashura procession, where followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, affirmed their commitment to the Cause of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and the observance of his sacred rituals.
Shia Muslims in Kenya said: “Hussainiyas and Shia centers across the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, hosted mourning gatherings for the commemoration of Ashura of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, which confirms the presence of Imam Hussein’s Cause in the hearts of Kenyan citizens.”
They continued, “The revolution of Ashura is the real catalyst for the true reform that believers aspire to, in achieving justice, equality, and rejecting oppression and tyranny.”
The participants noted that “participation in this Husseini procession is not limited to men only, but also includes believing women who honorably walk on the path of Sayyeda Zainab al-Kubra, peace be upon her, adhering to her blessed teachings.”
