Pakistani pilgrims preparing to head to Holy Karbala to observe Holy Pakistani Pilgrims
Hundreds of thousands of Pakistani pilgrims are embarking on a journey from their homeland to Iraq, passing through Iranian territory on their way to Holy Karbala.
They aim to participate in the Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, after 17 days of travel. This journey represents an expression of loyalty and devotion to Imam Hussain and his pure family, peace be upon them.
Shia Waves Agency has reported on Pakistani pilgrims preparing for this spiritual journey, capturing footage of them packing their belongings. These large caravans, including children, women, and the elderly, head first to Holy Najaf, then to Kufa, and finally to Holy Karbala, days before the Arbaeen ceremonies.
It should be noted that Pakistanis have service processions in Holy Karbala, similar to those from other countries. According to the Department of Hussaini Rituals and Processions, over 170 foreign processions participated in providing services to pilgrims during last year’s Holy Arbaeen, out of nearly 13,000 processions in total.
Last year, the Iraqi government agreed to issue free entry visas to 100,000 Pakistani pilgrims based on agreements made with the Pakistani Interior Minister a month before the Holy Arbaeen.
In a related context, the Iraqi Interior Minister discussed with a member of the Iranian Arbaeen Committee the entry of non-Iranian foreign pilgrims, such as Pakistani and Afghan pilgrims coming through Iran via the Shalamcheh border crossing in Basra province.
This long journey reflects the strength of faith and loyalty of Pakistani pilgrims and their diligent efforts to reach the shrine of Imam Hussain, peace be upon him, The event, which gathers millions from around the world, serves as a living embodiment of unity and devotion.
