Religious, social activists in Australia call for global support for Jannat al-Baqi issue
A group of religious figures and directors of Shia centres and organizations in several Australian cities presented on Tuesday a proposal to Islamic religious centers around the world on to launch a major campaign to commemorate the painful demolition of the graves of the holy Imams in Jannat al-Baqi and demand their reconstruction.
Many of the religious figures and center directors in Australia, who met with Shia News Agency, expressed “their deep condolences for the great tragedy of the demolition of the holy graves in Jannat al-Baqi in Holy Madinah, Saudi Arabia.”
They said, “This painful anniversary is being remembered again with ongoing violations of the rights and sanctity of the Infallible Imams of guidance, peace be upon them, which requires a serious stance and a large global movement to demand the rebuilding of their holy graves.”
The figures and directors pointed out that their ” demands stem from the calls and recommendations of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, who called for commemorating the International Day of al-Baqi”, indicating that “these calls must be translated into action.”
