Ministry of Transport mobilizes its staff and vehicles to transport pilgrims on Mid-Sha’ban
The Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced that 11 trains, more than 300 buses, and thousands of vehicles will be used to transport visitors during the mid-Sha’ban pilgrimage.
The Ministry mobilized on Saturday its vehicles and staff in preparation for the commemoration of Mid-Sha’ban, which marks the blessed birth anniversary of Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah Almighty hasten his honourable reappearance.
According to the Ministry’s statement, “an operations room has been formed under the leadership of the Deputy Minister of Transport for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Hazem Radi Al-Hafadhi, with the membership of directors of relevant departments.”
The statement added that “the Iraqi State Railways Company will operate 11 DMU trains to transport passengers from Baghdad to Karbala and vice versa, as well as from Basra to Karbala and vice versa.”
The statement continued, “The General Company for Passengers and Delegations Transport will deploy more than 300 buses of various capacities to serve and transport incoming visitors to Karbala. Technical, administrative, and operational teams with integrated equipment have been allocated to ensure the smooth transportation process.”
