Thailand: Shia devotees hold Tatbir ritual in commemoration of Ashura
The Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, circled a symbolic tomb designed to commeorate the Ashura of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, with blood covering their faces and bodies.
In a video footage seen by Shia Waves Agency, the Thai mourners chanted slogans in honor of Imam Hussein and carried out Hussein rituals such as Tatbir, to extend their heartfelt condolences to the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family.
Religious activits said that, “The Shias in Thailand, like other Shias around the world, hold their mourning ceremonies in Muharram, as they establish Tatbir and chest-beating processions to commemorate martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.”
