Kashmiri thinker: Imam Hussein’s sacrifices, indomitable spirit, rejection of corruption
The Kashmiri thinker and writer Dr. Kote Sahab said today Monday that Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, gave the most wonderful example of perseverance, indomitable spirit and making great sacrifices for the sake of religion and the goodness of humanity.
The newspaper “Kashmir Reader” published a new article by Sahab, in which he touched on the incident of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein ,peace be upon him, and the results and lessons this great event has produced.
Sahab said in his article: “the bloody day of Ashura witnessed one of the most terrible tragedies in history, when Yazid ordered the killing of the grandson of the noble Prophet, peace be upon him and his family, Imam Hussein.”
He added that, “Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, has a great divine status, and a special status from the Prophet, peace be upon him and his family;but on Ashura the most terrible disaster in Islamic history happened against this great imam.”
Sahab continued “Today, after these years have passed, Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, is being honored worldwide for his perseverance and indomitable spirit, and the ultimate sacrifice that he and his family and friends made, when they stood firmly in the face of injustice and persecution.”
The writer also recalled that “the Karbala incident is unparalleled in human history, the sacrifice embodied by Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and the steadfastness he showed constitute an example to follow for all the oppressed, the free and the revolutionaries”.
