Activists, bloggers worldwide launch campaigns demanding reconstruction of Baqi al-Gharqad

Bloggers and activists have launched a hashtag (Reconstructing Baqi al-Gharqad is a global demand) coinciding with the painful memory of the demolition of the holy graves of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in Baqi al-Gharqad in Medina.

The campaign comes in response to the call of the Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, who has reiterated his demands for reconstructing the holy graves of the Infallible Imams, as Shia devotees are commemorating the Baqi World Day.

Shia Waves Agency has monitored the campaign launched by the devoted followers of AhlulBayt on social media platforms, demanding the Saudi authorities to respect the sanctity of the pure graves and to rebuild the honorable shrines that were demolished by the Wahhabis and Salafis.

 The activists said in their statements that: “These campaigns are launched to uphold the word of truth and unify the demands calling for the rebuilding of the pure graves in Baqi’ al-Gharqad.”

 They added that, “Through these campaigns, we inform the world of the heinous crime committed against the graves of the pure Imams (peace be upon them).

 The Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence, Grand Ayatollah, Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, had earlier condemned the heinous crime against the honourable graves, and stressed on all Muslims to demand for their reconstruction.
