Under directives of Secretary-General of Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi Al-Karbalai, Imam Hussein Holy Shrine’s Crisis & Relief Cell announced that it would sponsor the transportation and treatment of the injured victims of the earthquake that struck Syria recently, as well as the elderly and cancer patients in the hospitals affiliated with Shrine.
A medical team from the Health and Medical Education Authority from the Holy Shrine was also sent to Syria to provide urgent assistance. The relief team is currently cooperating with specialized Syrian and Iraqi authorities.
