Arbaeen pilgrims from 16 countries handwrite the Holy Quran
A copy of the Holy Quran handwritten jointly by some 1750 pilgrims from 16 countries was gifted to the Holy Shrine of Al-Abbas, peace be upon him.
The pilgrims had each handwritten a part of the Quran during the annual Arbaeen pilgrimage in September, according to Al-Kafeel website.
The Quran Sciences Institute of Imam Ali Holy Shrine had organized the initiative during the pilgrimage with the aim of promoting the Quranic culture, Mushtaq Al-Ali, head of the institute said.
He said the script used in writing this copy is the same as the one used in the Quran of the Al-Abbas Holy Shrine.
The copy of the holy book was presented to Sayyed Ahmed Al-Safi, the Holy Shrine’s Chief Cleric.
The names of the pilgrims who contributed to the creation of the handwritten Quran was mentioned in the copy.
