International demands of the Bahraini regime to stop unfair death sentences on political backgrounds are repeated, while the regime continues to issue life sentences to human rights appeals and calls by the United Nations for its commitment to freeze and abolish this punishment.
International human rights organizations referred to the severe torture of those sentenced to death during criminal investigations in order to extract confessions from them. They see these punishments as the cruelest and in violation of human rights.

The number of prisoners exceeds 4 thousand prisoners, as the system launches a large-scale campaign to eliminate all forms of opposition by suppressing the right to freedom of expression, and freedom to form and join associations.
