Yesterday, the Iraqi Ministry of Transport announced a special plan to transport pilgrims of the Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) through trains.
The Director General of the Iraq Railways Company, Talib Jawad Al-Husseini, said in a statement followed by Shia Waves News Agency, that “a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Transport to draw up a plan for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage,” noting that “the engineering and technical staffs have started to secure transportation for pilgrims to and from provinces that have railroads networks.”
He explained, “The Company’s plan for the current year focuses on three axes. The first axis includes the road from Baghdad to Karbala, the second from the Soogh al-Shuyukh, Nasiriyah and Diwaniyah to Karbala, and the third will be from Basra province to holy Karbala and vice versa.”
