Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation requests Iraqi Minister of Interior to allow foreign pilgrims residing in Iran to enter through land-border crossings
Yesterday, the Misbah Al-Hussein Foundation for Relief and Development in Holy Karbala sent a letter to the Iraqi Minister of Interior Othman Al-Ghanimi, appealing to him to allow the entry of foreign pilgrims residing in Iran through land-border crossings and to facilitate their arrival to commemorate the Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
The Foundation stated in its letter, which Shia Waves News Agency obtained a copy of: “Out of your belief in the depth of the pilgrimage to the Master of Martyrs (peace be upon him), you issued instructions to facilitate the entry of foreign pilgrims residing in Iran to Iraq through air ports.”
The Foundation added, “We hope that you will include these foreigners, like their Iranian brothers, by allowing them to enter through land-border crossings, as well as canceling their entry visas during the blessed Arbaeen Pilgrimage.”
It is worth noting that hundreds of Afghans, Pakistanis and other foreigners have been residing for years inside Iran, but it is difficult for them to enter through the land-border crossings to Iraq, and they are considered among the foreign visitors whom the Iraqi government allowed entry through the air ports “exclusively” to revive the Arbaeen.
