CAIR releases updated, digital guide to Islam and Muslims in Oklahoma, US
With the number of Muslims increasing, it becomes even more important for Oklahomans to have a resource that can introduce them to the Islamic faith practice, Muslim community and the culture surrounding it.
The Oklahoma Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-OK) took the initiative and announced on Wednesday the release of its updated digital “Guide to Islam and Muslims in Oklahoma”.
The digital guide, updated for 2022, contains information about Islamic theology, common Muslim religious practices, an overview of Islamic centers an schools in the state, and documentation of the social and civic involvement of the Oklahoman Muslims community.
Additionally, the guide provides information on the history of Islamophobia in Oklahoma, including examples of discrimination, anti-Muslim propaganda, harassment, and physical violence directed at Muslims.
