A Pakistani Muslim was attacked with a knife days ago by a group saying they “hate Muslims” in the Canadian city of Saskatoon, a Canadian newspaper revealed on Tuesday.
The newspaper “The Star Phoenix” reported that the Pakistani, Muhammad Kashif, was attacked with a knife on June 25, in an area near his house.
It added that Kashif, who was wearing traditional Pakistani dress, sustained injuries to his back and arm, and the assailants cut his beard.
The newspaper quoted Kashif saying that the group addressed him with expressions of their hatred of Muslims, in addition to asking him questions such as “Why are you here? Go back to your country.”
In turn, Saskatoon Mayor Charles Clarke described the incident as “surprising and sad”, adding that they had launched an investigation.
