Harvard University confirmed that the US Constitution guarantees religious freedom for all, whereby Muslims can freely perform their political and social activities.
In a lecture titled “The Relationship between Religion and Law in America,” the Harvard Law School teacher Zahraa Takhshid said that the American Constitution is not like its European counterpart, as everyone’s rights are guaranteed.
Takhshid said, “Some people wonder why in the United States of America, unlike in Europe, a veiled Muslim woman can enter the US Congress and also why the White House annually holds a Ramadan Iftar and why the government gives a wide area of freedoms to religious minorities, unlike what we see in Europe,” explaining that the reason behind this is that American society has a religious identity and most of the lawsuits are religious.
