Washington and NATO begin to withdraw troops from Afghanistan
The commander of the US and NATO forces in Afghanistan, General Scott Miller, said that his country and NATO have begun the process of withdrawing forces from some bases in Afghanistan.
“Our forces have begun to withdraw from some bases in Afghanistan,” the General said during a conference in Kabul. “The American army will hand over all its bases to the Afghan forces.”
Earlier, the US administration announced that it would “start, by the first of May, to withdraw troops from Afghanistan, and by September 11, the process will be completed.”
The administration stated, “This withdrawal will take place in full coordination with allies and partners.”
