International Council: The Bahraini regime turned the judiciary into a tool to suppress dissent
The International Council for Supporting Fair Trial and Human Rights condemned the absence of an independent judiciary in Bahrain, and the judicial system’s failure to adhere to fair trial standards.
It said through a tweet on its Twitter account that prisoners of conscience in Bahrain are victims of the absence of an independent judicial system that adheres to fair trial standards, and that the regime sought to transform the judiciary into a tool that fights and suppresses dissent.
The Council affirmed that prisoners of conscience in Bahrain are subjected to all violations on a daily basis inside prisons, such as medical neglect, torture, ill-treatment and others.
