The Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, said that whoever forbids visiting the holy shrines of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, and reviving the sacred Husseini rituals, he brings to mind what the Banu al-Abbas used to do of injustice and violence towards those loyal to the Ahlubayt, peace be upon them.
During his speech to a crowd of mourners on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of the Noble Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, His Eminence said, “We do not blame non-Muslim countries as much as we blame the rulers of some Arab and Islamic countries for preventing the believers from carrying out sacred religious rituals, among which is the revival of Imam Hussein’s Arbaeen commemoration.”
The Grand Ayatollah pointed out that visiting the holy shrines is an important and great matter, and it constitutes an exceptional case for the lovers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, and for all Muslims.
“Some of these rulers, instead of facilitating the way for people to visit the holy shrines and provide them with support, we see them obstruct and put obstacles in front of them,” reminding them of the torment of the Hereafter as they stand before the Almighty.
The Grand Ayatollah called on the lovers of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, especially the preachers and the various media outlets, to intensify their efforts and convey their voice to the whole world so everyone can know the oppression against the Shias.
