The Imam Shirazi World Foundation (ISWF) has issued a statement on the occasion of the World Radio Day, calling for focusing on disseminating the culture, ideology, and beliefs of Ahlulbait, peace be upon them.

The Foundation said in the statement, ” the thirteenth of this month (February) marks the World Radio Day for the impact it has in creating awareness and dissemination of culture, along with the transmission of truth through the circulation of the right news and sound analysis,” adding ” The last two decades, in particular, witnessed the addition of the visualized word through the satellite channels, which has spread enormously, the thing that has doubled the responsibility and increased the role and influence widely. “

the statement added that “Islam and the School of Ahlulbait, peace be upon them, have paid great attention to the audio and visual message through the Husseini pulpit, which was and still has a great role in protecting the nation from all kinds of deviations, in addition to its role in spreading culture and ideology and face the intellectual and cultural attacks that the nation is constantly subjected to.

The statement revealed that ” the late religious authority Imam al-Sayyid Muhammad al-Shirazi, may Allah bless his soul, was the first to encourage attention to radio and printing, he did not hesitate to put all his efforts for the followers of the school of Ahlulbait, peace be upon them, Until the first satellite channel was launched in 2002 as the last commandment recommended by the late Imam before his death. With Allah’s blessing that good seed which was sown by the late religious authority, the number of Shia satellite channels exceeded 100 today, each of which performs its religious and cultural mission in some form.

It is worth mentioning that World Radio Day is an observance day held annually on 13 February. World Radio Day is about celebrating radio, why we love it and why we need it today more than ever. A day to remember the unique power of radio to touch lives and bring people together across every corner of the globe. It was proclaimed on 3 November 2011 by UNESCO’s 36th General Conference after originally being proposed by the Kingdom of Spain.
