Malik Moatasim Khan, deputy emir of the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, has called on Muslims around the world to recognize their shared responsibility toward humanity and play an active role in addressing the social, economic and humanitarian challenges facing societies.

Speaking at the Third International Seminar on “The Mission of the Ummah of Muhammad,” Khan said Islamic teachings call for a balance between worldly responsibilities and preparation for the hereafter, while promoting a just society founded on moral values, justice and social solidarity.

He said the responsibilities of the Islamic ummah extend beyond religious matters to include environmental protection, strengthening families, reforming social structures, combating poverty and working toward a fairer distribution of wealth.

Khan also stressed the importance of justice and equality for all people regardless of religious affiliation, calling for opposition to oppression and authoritarianism and greater efforts to protect human dignity and rights.

He said these responsibilities should be reflected in practical engagement with communities and humanitarian issues, enabling Muslims to contribute positively to social reform and human welfare.

Khan concluded by saying Muslims should serve as a source of mercy and justice for humanity, warning that failure to fulfill these responsibilities would affect society as a whole and carry religious accountability before God.
