Southern Lebanon witnessed a new escalation in tensions, with renewed Israeli airstrikes and shelling on several towns, coinciding with gunfire and search operations near the border areas. Field reports indicated that Israeli artillery shelling targeted the town of Al-Mansouri, alongside the firing of a shell from a “Merkava” tank and bursts of machine-gun fire directed toward the town.

On the Israeli side, media sources reported that six Thai workers were injured due to the explosion of an old bomb in an orchard near the settlement of Metula, noting that two of them sustained serious injuries.

In a separate incident, the Israeli army announced the launching of an interceptor missile at what it described as a “false target” in the area of Zr’it, clarifying that the incident did not lead to the activation of alarm sirens. The Israeli army added that there are no concerns about a security incident, indicating that an investigation has been opened to ascertain the circumstances of the interceptor missile launch.
