The United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories has stated that genocide and apartheid have become part of Israel’s official government policies.

According to international media reports, Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur, said in a statement shared on social media that Israel’s actions have revealed its approach toward the Palestinian issue, describing it as a policy that seeks to create a reality in which there is no place for Palestinians.

Albanese called for the imposition of international sanctions on Israel, its diplomatic isolation, and a complete halt to arms shipments. She urged the international community to take practical measures in response to what she described as widespread violations of Palestinian rights.

The UN official also rejected distinctions between a “good” and “bad” Israel, arguing that international pressure should include sanctions, restrictions on trade relations, and an end to military support.

She further stated that “the tragedy of the occupation of Palestine has never ended,” describing the current situation as a continuation of longstanding policies of occupation and displacement.

Albanese’s remarks have received support from several Arab and Islamic countries, as well as international human rights organizations, including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch.
