More Than 700 Journalists, Media Professionals to Cover Arbaeen Pilgrimage in Karbala

More than 700 journalists, photographers, and media professionals are set to cover this year’s Arbaeen pilgrimage in the holy city of Karbala, as local authorities complete preparations to support extensive local and international media coverage of the world’s largest annual religious gatherings.
Tawfiq al-Habbali, Director of Information and Government Communications at the Karbala Governorate, announced that a fully equipped media center has been established to serve local, Arab, and international media organizations covering the Arbaeen ceremonies.
The media center includes facilities for live broadcasting, high-speed internet services, rest areas for journalists, and direct access to official statistics, data, and information related to the pilgrimage activities.
Al-Habbali stated that the governorate has deployed 23 Satellite News Gathering (SNG) vehicles across Karbala and along major routes leading to the city to facilitate live television coverage. Additionally, 18 LiveU mobile broadcasting units have been provided to assist media outlets with live reporting operations.
According to the official, 143 Arab and international journalists and media professionals from various countries have received accreditation to cover the pilgrimage. They will work alongside approximately 600 Iraqi journalists, photographers, media workers, and technical teams involved in documenting the event.
Al-Habbali said the large media presence reflects the growing global attention toward the Arbaeen pilgrimage, which annually attracts millions of visitors to Karbala to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
He added that the Karbala Governorate continues to provide technical and logistical support to ensure comprehensive and professional media coverage during the pilgrimage, in coordination with the expected arrival of millions of pilgrims from Iraq and around the world.
