Eighth Turkish-Arab Artists Forum Opens in Istanbul with Participation of Prominent Creators

The eighth edition of the Turkish-Arab Artists Forum opened in Istanbul on Saturday, July 25, bringing together a group of prominent artists from Turkey and the Arab world under the theme “Colors That Draw Stories.”

The two-day event is organized by the Turkish-Arab Association in cooperation with the Turkish-Arab Art House, with the aim of highlighting the shared cultural heritage between Turkish and Arab societies and strengthening dialogue and communication through art.

During the opening ceremony, speakers emphasized the historical and civilizational contributions of Turks and Arabs to Islamic culture, highlighting the role of artistic and cultural initiatives in promoting understanding and closer ties among peoples.

The forum features a diverse collection of visual, fine, and applied arts, including oil painting, Arabic calligraphy, sculpture, ceramics, mosaic art, traditional gilding, and handicrafts.

Among the displayed works is the painting “The Kaaba Door Curtain” by Turkish artist Zeynep Şeyhun, a specialist in the art of gilding, a traditional Islamic art form that uses gold decoration in manuscripts and artworks.

The program also includes artist meetings, seminars, cultural presentations, and musical evenings, as part of efforts to strengthen cultural relations and promote a shared creative identity between Turkey and the Arab world.
