Iraq’s Ministry of Health has announced a comprehensive medical plan to provide healthcare services during the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), involving more than 150,000 ministry personnel across the country.

Health Minister Abdul Hussein Aziz al-Mousawi said during a parliamentary oversight hearing on Arbaeen security and service preparations that the plan includes the deployment of 1,000 ambulances, 2,000 support vehicles, rapid response teams, medical units, and health monitoring teams to assist pilgrims and handle emergency cases.

The minister confirmed that health inspection campaigns on food and beverages distributed to pilgrims will continue throughout the pilgrimage period to ensure safety standards and reduce health risks. He also highlighted the support provided to volunteer medical teams participating in the delivery of healthcare services.

Al-Mousawi praised the efforts of the holy shrines, the Popular Mobilization Forces, and security authorities, stressing that coordination among all involved institutions is essential to implement the health plan and provide medical services for millions of pilgrims attending the Arbaeen commemoration in Karbala.
