Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Calls on Governments to Remove Obstacles for Arbaeen Pilgrims
———————————–
Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi has described the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) as a global occasion for free people and followers of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), urging governments to provide all necessary facilities to support and assist pilgrims.
In a statement, the religious authority emphasized that Arbaeen should not be treated as an opportunity for financial gain or excessive administrative restrictions that place additional burdens on pilgrims. He said the pilgrimage is a major religious and humanitarian ritual that deserves comprehensive support and care due to its significance among Muslims.
Grand Ayatollah Shirazi called for the removal of all barriers facing pilgrims and the elimination of additional costs and burdens imposed on them, stressing that serving visitors of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) represents a religious, moral, and humanitarian responsibility.
He further stated that obstacles placed in the path of pilgrims contradict the values of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them), calling for greater cooperation between official institutions and communities to ensure the success of the Arbaeen pilgrimage and provide suitable conditions for millions of visitors arriving from inside and outside Iraq.
