A suspected arson attack on the Islamic Center and Al-Madina Hall on Talbot Street in central Dublin caused significant damage to the place of worship and raised concern among religious minorities.
The incident caused no casualties, as those present were evacuated in time. It came after weeks of repeated harassment, threats, and intimidation targeting worshippers by far-right groups.
According to Anadolu Agency, Irish police have launched a special criminal investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, the news outlet 5Pillars reported that the Muslim Council of Ireland issued a statement strongly condemning what it described as a shocking hand-grenade attack.
The council said worshippers had been illegally filmed in recent weeks and subjected to false claims. It warned that Islamophobic actions and the normalization of hate speech against Muslims embolden extremists to commit acts of violence.
The Muslim Council of Ireland stressed the need to stand against division and uphold the values of peaceful coexistence.
