Norwegian researcher honored for academic efforts to translate Nahj al-Balagha

A Norwegian researcher has been honored in Oslo in recognition of her academic efforts to translate Nahj al-Balagha and promote intercultural dialogue between Islamic and Western societies.
The recognition took place on the sidelines of an international seminar organized by the International Council for Religious and Humanitarian Dialogue at the central library in the Norwegian capital. During the event, Dr. Nora Soneva Igen, a scholar specializing in religious studies, delivered an analytical presentation on Nahj al-Balagha, highlighting its intellectual, ethical, and humanitarian themes and its relevance to concepts of justice, morality, and dialogue across cultures.
Dr. Igen is regarded as one of the prominent researchers working to introduce Islamic heritage to Western audiences. She has completed a translation of Nahj al-Balagha into Norwegian and has also translated several other key Islamic texts as part of her broader academic work aimed at presenting Islamic thought through its original sources.
In recognition of her contributions to research, translation, and cultural exchange, the Secretary-General of the International Council for Religious and Humanitarian Dialogue, Dr. Ali Mousa Al-Mousawi, presented Dr. Igen with a certificate of appreciation, citing her role in strengthening civilizational dialogue, fostering cultural bridges between East and West, and supporting mutual understanding among societies.
