Nonviolence Organization Urges World Leaders to Take Bold Action at Global Climate Summit

Ahead of the upcoming Global Climate Conference, the International Organization for Nonviolence (Freemuslim) has urged world leaders to take decisive and transformative measures to address the worsening climate crisis. In a statement obtained by Shia Waves Agency, the organization described climate change as an existential threat to peace, justice, and human security—one that disproportionately harms the world’s most vulnerable populations.

The organization warned that delayed promises and slow progress have turned climate change into a “silent weapon” destroying lives and communities. It called on world leaders to prioritize four key areas:

• Protection of Climate Migrants – Official recognition and legal frameworks to safeguard internally displaced persons and cross-border climate refugees.

• Combating Drought and Ensuring Food Security – Increased funding for sustainable agriculture and anti-desertification projects.

• Financial Justice and Climate Equity – Fulfillment of climate finance commitments, debt relief for developing countries, and compensation for climate-induced losses.

• Inclusive Participation – Empowerment of affected communities, including women, youth, and indigenous peoples, and protection of environmental defenders.

The group emphasized that violence against nature equals violence against humanity, urging the conference to deliver bold, binding agreements that reflect industrial nations’ moral responsibility and advance a just, sustainable global economy.
