Protests by Morocco’s youth-led “Gen Z212” movement continued for the eighth consecutive day across several cities, demanding broad social and economic reforms. The group, which emerged on the Discord platform and counts over 180,000 members, is calling for improved healthcare and education, job creation, and stronger action against corruption.

Organizers have repeatedly emphasized the importance of keeping the demonstrations peaceful and avoiding any acts of violence or vandalism, stating their aim is to “reform the nation, not destroy it.” Government officials have urged calm and dialogue, noting that many of the country’s problems in healthcare and education stem from long-standing structural issues.

The Minister of Youth and Communication said these challenges “require comprehensive and collaborative solutions.” The movement marks the largest wave of youth-led protests in Morocco in years, reflecting growing frustration over unemployment and declining public services.
