A former Israeli army commander, Herzi Halevi, has confirmed that over 200,000 Palestinians in Gaza have been killed or injured during Israel’s military offensive. This admission, published in a recording by the Ynet news website, is one of the first from the Israeli side to align with casualty figures provided by Gaza’s health ministry.

According to Al Arabiya, Halevi, who led the military assault for the first 17 months, stated that this was not a “gentle war” and that he was never restricted by legal advice.
